Katie Nageotte 2nd Place Women's Pole Vault - Acadia Invitational 2020
Published by
Katie Nageotte equaled the world outdoor pole vault lead with her third-attempt clearance at 15-9.25 (4.81m) at the Acadia Invitational in Piedmont, S.C. Nageotte tied with fellow American Sandi Morris, who cleared 15-9.25 on her first attempt. It marked the first time two U.S. female pole vaulters both cleared at least 15-9.25 at the same outdoor competition after the feat had been achieved on four occasions indoors in the past five years. It was also the first official event showcased on the UCS Spirit "Pink Panther" pit, with Morris and her father Harry building the new facility in the spring during the Coronavirus pandemic.
